I’m sitting in my hotel room in Buckhead, Atlanta thinking about all the Ignite sessions of today. It’s around 23:00 and we will visit Ignite early tomorrow, so I’ll keep it short.
The day started at the C-building with a nice breakfast. The keynote was presented in the Philips Arena which is the arena of the Atlanta Hawks basketball team. We went to the keynote quite early in the morning but still it was hard to find a good seat. We were sitting at one of the top rings of the large arena. My 3D Selfie that was made on Sunday was being displayed on the big screen before the keynote started! That was really cool and a big surprise! My 3D Selfie was even displayed in the main entrance and during the keynote of Satya Nadella! (Pictures will follow later)
During the keynote, the following news was announced:
- Windows Server 2016: General Availability in October 2016
- Microsoft added the commercial version of Docker to Windows Server 2016
- Second Technical Preview of Azure Stack
- Windows Defender Application Guard. This new feature uses virtualization technology to open any links clicked on in a sandbox to prevent malicious code from spreading across the network and other devices.
Not all sessions that I joined today can be watched from the Ignite website, but I can highly recommend the following sessions:
Hope to have some more time tomorrow to write a new blog post.
